Western Reserve Toy Show

It is time once again to get out the house after a long, cold, snowy winter. And the Western Reserve Ruritan Club wants to help you do that by inviting you to attend the 20th annual Western Reserve Toy Show, to be held on Sunday, March 7, form 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at Western Reserve Elementary School, Collins, on U.S. Route 20, three miles west of Wakeman or seven miles east of Norwalk.

The show will include some old and some new farm toys, construction toys, diecast cars, Nascar, wood toys, farm signs, equipment manuals and literature, sports cards, dolls, action figures, and many other types of toys.

As of Feb. 8, a good start of over 40 tables have been reserved by 16 dealers from around northern Ohio, and many more are expected.

The admission is $2 and children under 12, accompanied by an adult, will be admitted free. There is plenty of free parking, and a very fine lunch will be available from the Western Reserve FFA and FFA Alumni. Door prizes donated by area business and individuals will be presented throughout the day.

The 2009 Toy Show was very well attended, with over 475 visitors viewing, buying and selling and trading all types of toys set up by 25 dealers on 60 tables. It was a very successful show despite the cold wintry day.

The show is sponsored by the Western Reserve Ruitan Club, a local civic organization. The Ruitans use the proceeds from the show to sponsor two scholarship for Western Reserve students, donate to the Western Reserve Renaissance Program and Western Reserve Endowment Fund, donate to Boy Scout Troop 242's Toys for Needy Kids, and many other community needs. The Ruitans feel that the Toy Show is a very successful and entertaining event. They hope everyone will come out and support the dealers, FFA, the Ruitan Club and the community.

For anyone desiring to set up at the show or simply needing more information, please contact Rich Ruess at 419-668-4521 or Steve Zimmerman at 419-668-0940.
